Over 14,000 flats in Tengah completed: 2nd neighbourhood centre to open in 2026
Over 14,000 flats in Tengah completed: 2nd neighbourhood centre to open in 2026
Tengah – marketed as Singapore’s first smart and sustainable HDB town – is starting to feel less like a construction site and more like a real, lived-in neighbourhood. Housing Board (HDB) has now completed over 14,000 flats in Tengah, with the town’s second neighbourhood centre on track to open in the first quarter of 2026.
Tengah’s transformation: From “forest town” concept to lived-in estate
Tengah is planned for about 30,000 HDB flats across five districts – Plantation, Garden, Park, Forest Hill and Brickland. As of late 2025, more than 14,000 units have been completed, giving early residents a critical mass of neighbours, services and community life.
Earlier phases saw amenities such as supermarkets, eateries and pre-schools opening in Plantation and Garden districts. With more keys progressively issued and infrastructure improving, Tengah is moving into its next chapter as a town with stronger connectivity and lifestyle offerings.
Parc Point: Tengah’s 2nd neighbourhood centre
The new neighbourhood centre, Parc Point, will be Tengah’s second major hub after Plantation Plaza. It is slated to open in Q1 2026, serving residents living around Parc Residences @ Tengah and the wider Park and Garden districts.
What residents can expect at Parc Point
- FairPrice supermarket as the anchor grocery option.
- Gourmet Paradise food court offering a range of cooked-food choices.
- A new polyclinic, bringing primary healthcare into the heart of the estate.
- Over 40 shops with a mix of F&B, retail and services opening in phases.
- A wellness trail and roof garden, integrating greenery with everyday retail activity.
- A sheltered retail street connecting the centre to surrounding residential blocks.
The design of Parc Point blends retail, community spaces and park-like elements. Stairways and landscaped walkways complement escalators, encouraging residents to stay active as they move between levels and towards the rooftop garden.
Why this matters for Tengah home owners and future buyers
For existing Tengah residents, Parc Point directly addresses earlier concerns about limited amenities and long travel times for basic needs. With a supermarket, food court and healthcare services in one node, daily routines – from buying groceries to seeing a doctor – become significantly more convenient.
For buyers and investors, the combination of:
- Rising completion of flats,
- Steady opening of neighbourhood centres, and
- Upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL) MRT stations and integrated transport hub,
strengthens the case for Tengah as a maturing HDB town rather than an “experimental” project. As the town fills out, price gaps between early resale units in Tengah and more established western estates will be closely watched by the market.
Looking ahead: What’s next for Tengah?
Beyond Parc Point, Tengah residents can look forward to:
- More neighbourhood and town-level amenities as later-stage projects TOP and more commercial spaces are opened.
- Improved public transport when JRL stations in Tengah begin operations later in the decade.
- Enhanced greenery and park connectors as the town’s “forest town” landscaping is completed.
With over 14,000 flats already completed and a second neighbourhood centre opening in 2026, Tengah is quickly moving from planning render to a real, lived-in town. For young families, first-time buyers and upgraders looking in the west, Tengah will increasingly feature in home-search shortlists over the next few years.
