New Punggol Coast Bus Interchange to open on June 29
Punggol residents can look forward to smoother journeys from 29 June 2025, when the new Punggol Coast Bus Interchange officially opens as Singapore’s latest integrated transport hub. Linked directly to Punggol Coast MRT station and Punggol Coast Mall in the Punggol Digital District, the hub is designed to give commuters faster and more convenient connections across the island.
What’s New at Punggol Coast Bus Interchange?
The new interchange is fully air-conditioned and integrated with nearby transport and lifestyle amenities, similar to other Integrated Transport Hubs (ITHs) around Singapore. It is planned to serve up to 10 bus services at full capacity, with sheltered, barrier-free access between buses, MRT and mall.
Which Bus Services Are Moving to Punggol Coast?
When the interchange opens, existing services from Punggol will be extended to start and end at Punggol Coast, with routes adjusted to cover more homes in the north of the town.
Key Services Affected
- Service 34 – extended to Punggol Coast and serving more stops in Punggol, while retaining connectivity to Tampines and Changi Airport.
- Service 117 & 117M – extended from Punggol to Punggol Coast, providing more direct links to Seletar, Yishun and Sembawang.
These adjustments improve coverage for residents in areas such as Sumang, Sentul Walk and the new Punggol Digital District, giving them more one-bus options to key employment and lifestyle nodes islandwide.
Designed with Commuters and Staff in Mind
The interchange comes with inclusive commuter facilities, including:
- Barrier-free access and priority queue zones with seating
- Wheelchair-accessible toilets and a baby care room
- A commuter care room for those who need a quiet, calming space
Public transport staff also benefit from dedicated back-of-house amenities such as a canteen and staff lounge. Energy-saving features like LED lighting, energy-efficient air-conditioning and motion-sensor lights help the hub run more sustainably.
What This Means for Punggol Residents and Investors
With both Punggol Bus Interchange and the new Punggol Coast Bus Interchange in operation, the town now enjoys two major bus nodes connected to the rail network. For residents, this means:
- Shorter travel times to the city, north and east
- More route choices during peak hours
- Better connectivity to the Punggol Digital District, SIT campus and waterfront areas
For homeowners and investors, the opening of an integrated transport hub often supports surrounding property values over the medium to long term, especially as new offices, education institutions and amenities in the district progressively open.
